Relieving Neck Pain

One of the most common conditions we see
here at our office is neck pain. When we
look at the neck, it is made up of seven
bones. It’s called the cervical
vertebrae here. These bones uh basically
go from the skull down to the upper part
of your midback where the rib cage
starts. Uh and in between these
vertebrae, we have cushions which are
discs and we have nerves that pass
through the spine. Now it goes bone,
disc, bone, disc, bone, disc and there
are seven bones in the neck. Now when it
comes to neck pain, the most common
thing we see is people start to develop
forward head posture due to due to their
cell phones, due to computer work,
driving or sleep. What that does is it
places the head too far forward and it
puts extra stress and pressure on the
vertebrae of the neck. This can cause
them to wear out, putting pressure on
nerves, wearing out the discs, causing
arthritis to the spine, and that can
lead to a lot of neck pain. Now, if
you’re experiencing neck pain, some
helpful, you know, tips would be to make
sure you’re maintaining good posture
while you’re sitting, using a good
pillow at night to help ease the tension
and pressure being placed on the neck,
and then making sure you’re doing some
gentle stretching on a daily basis. If
